Unfortunately, we are unable to book stations without receiving payment first.  However, we do have debit machines at our facilities.  So, if there are still stations available, you can pay that way when you arrive.

We highly encourage you to book online so you can save your spots, if you’re going to walk in we still recommend completing your waiver ahead of time, then checking our session times online and arrive 15 minutes prior to your session start so we can check you in and have you ready to start your VR experience on time!

We highly recommend that you and everyone in your booking that will be playing, complete your waivers online before your session and arrive at Ctrl V at least 15 minutes before the start of your session so that we can get you checked in and ready to go when your time starts!  You may want to bring a water bottle and wear lightweight clothing. VR is a full-body experience!

Definitely!  If your booking is more than 24 hours away, simply click here.  If your booking is less than 24 hours away, please email the location at which you are booked to make the request.

Our VR stations allow for one person to use at a time, however, we allow a maximum of 2 people to share a station by taking turns during their booking. (excluding events)

Our standard pricing is an hourly rate based on the number of stations booked, regardless of whether 1 or 2 people will be using the station during their booking.

A Time Split allows two people to share a station for an hour.  You can change in and out with the other person at your discretion throughout the session.

Most locations have a birthday party package that includes 1 hour of VR time for your group, and the use of the private party room for 40 minutes afterward. Our party rooms have tables, chairs, a refrigerator and freezer and outside food and drinks (excluding alcohol) are welcome! Typically, the host of the party prepares the party room for their guests when there is about 10 minutes of play time remaining in the session. For more information, please visit your nearest location’s Birthdays page, email directly, or speak to a VR employee the next time you visit us!

Unfortunately, there isn’t any VR in the private party room, but it is ideal for food, drinks, and presents!

At the moment, we aren’t able to process the coupons online.  We recommend booking the number of stations online normally with your credit card, then bringing your coupon in to redeem the discount. The discount amount will be refunded back to your payment card.  If you have a promo code, it can be redeemed online prior to the payment stage of booking.

We sure do!

  • Every Thursday we offer BOGO 50% off on VR stations!
  • The first Wednesday of every month is our Free VR Day!
  • With our New Customer Referral program, receive a free gift card just for bringing new customers with you to Ctrl V!

We recommend at least 8 years old to play at Ctrl V.  However, we have had many 5, 6, and 7 year-olds come and play and have a great time with no issues!  The biggest factors for playing VR with us are if the headset fits the child properly (if their head is too small then the headset won’t stay on) and if they are able to understand the game/controls or are at least able to follow directions given by the staff.

We recommend at least 48″ tall to play VR.  The reason for this is that many games have a standard environment that is based on the player being at least that tall.  This does not apply to all of our games though, and some of our games will allow for a shorter calibration.  Feel free to ask our staff for recommendations for games that will be suitable for shorter players.

GAMES FAQ

Each person can switch in and out of any of the games in our library at their discretion throughout the session using Ctrl V’s exclusive Ctrl Room.

We have a great selection of multiplayer games appropriate for all ages.  Anyone with their own station would be able to join each other and play the game together.  They will even be able to see and hear each other during the game! It’s definitely the best way to experience VR!  There is a limit to how many players can play each game together though, so we recommend checking out the games section of your preferred location to plan which game(s) may be best suited to your group before you arrive.  Our staff are always happy to recommend games for your group as well.

We can definitely do that!  When you arrive for your session, please ask our amazing staff and they will be able to restrict all games rated 14+ on any stations in your booking!

You can view the games we have available at each location by going to that location’s page and clicking on the “Games” section.  Check out the “Featured Games This Month” section for new or recommended games for the month!  Click on a game icon to see a short trailer and description of the game. New games are typically launched on the first Monday of the month.

There sure is!  Click here.  Note that availability of games will vary by location and we recommend checking your nearest location’s “Games” section of their page to see the current games in their library.  Games that are not listed in a location’s library may still be available upon request.  We recommend emailing your nearest location ahead of time to inquire about the availability of games.

VIRTUAL REALITY FAQ

Virtual Reality technology allows you to transport yourself into a variety of new worlds and mirror your movements perfectly inside the game.

Yes!  In terms of gaming, the immersiveness that VR provides offers a level of gaming that hasn’t been seen until now.  From a real-world perspective, VR offers an amazing platform for virtual training, meetings, classrooms and more!

The most prevalent risks of VR are eye strain and motion sickness.  The main cause of eye strain is using the headset continuously for too long.  We address this issue by offering sessions that are one hour in length and by encouraging our customers to take a break if they are playing for an extended period of time or if they are feeling discomfort.  Motion sickness in VR is largely caused by smooth game movement which mimics real life motion.  We have addressed this issue by minimizing the number of games that contain this type of movement as well as having a number of games with little to no movement in them to ensure we have games that are suitable for everyone!

FACILITY & HARDWARE FAQ

We have dozens of locations in three different countries and we’re constantly expanding!  To find out if we have a location near you, click “Locations” at the top of the page or check out our location map here.

You will have access to the HTC Vive at all of our locations!  The Vive is a specific brand of head-mounted display (HMD), controllers, and tracking peripherals, which allows the user to see and interact with the virtual environment.  Infrared lasers and LEDs are tracked by each component, providing highly-accurate tracking capabilities to transfer your movement to your character in the game.

All of our locations have anywhere from 8 to 18 VR stations.  The standard dimensions of our stations are 10′ x 10′.  Each VR station contains an HTC Vive VR system, foam mats for comfort while playing, and a monitor which mirrors what you are seeing in your headset for spectators to enjoy!

If you’re interested in buying your own HTC Vive, you can purchase one through the link here: http://bit.ly/2rkKUZQ
